Our goal is to decorate the town of Waymart and the surround Waymart Area with unique scarecrows and have our community vote on the one they like best. Voting will be accessible here once all scarecrows are in place. ​

This event is open to everyone of all ages and will cost nothing except for a lot of imagination, a little time, a bale or two of hay, and some odds and ends to build your scarecrow.​

We hope you will all come and join us in making this a special event!​

Entry forms can be found on the Waymart Area Parties in the Park Website.  Your entry form should be completed and submitted to Waymart Area Parties in the Park prior to October 18, 2020 if you wish to participate. 

ALL participants are welcome.

Scarecrow construction must contain hay, straw and/or cornstalks.

Scarecrows must be built in good taste.  Those that reflect controversial social or political issues will not be accepted.

Your exhibit may contain more than one figure, not to exceed three.

Figures must be a minimum of 3ft and a maximum of 5ft in height.

You may build your entry offsite and display it in your yard.

All entries must be displayed in your yard on or before October 18th, 2020 before 4:00pm.

Once your entry is displayed you will be assigned a number that will need to be affixed to your entry to display with your scarecrow.

All scarecrows should remain on display until October 31, 2020 and will be subjected to snow, rain and wind.  The construction should be durable and any ornamentation should be securely attached.

Voting for the best scarecrow will be available online at www.waymartpa.us.  Once all entries have been completed and pictures have been taken, voting will begin.  Voting will close at 8:00 pm, Friday, October 30, 2020.

Check out the Waymart Area Parties in the Park (WAPP) Facebook and follow the link to the website voting page.  The scarecrow with the majority votes will win.  ONLY ONE VOTE PER IP ADDRESS WILL BE ACCEPTED PER DAY.  

 The winner will be announced Halloween Night.
