Waystock 2011 August 5 & 6, 2011 Celebrating its 4th year, Waystock has become a summer favorite in Wayne County. Reflecting back on the free spirit of the ’69 Woodstock Festival held in nearby Bethel New York. Waystock 2011, Music Fest and Street Fair, will feature 10 free bands, and over 40 street vendors. "Our goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy the music our local bands have to offer." "Many parents find it difficult to take a family to a concert, so we will bring the concert to them." said Lilian Rollison, President, Waymart Area Parties in the Park. "Each year the event grows larger and larger, we are excited to announce this year will again feature the Friday night kick-off party, from 6 pm – 9 pm with 3 bands rocking the night away."Rollison said. Then Saturday beginning at 11 am, the music fest begins, 10 free bands will continue to rock Downtown Waymart until late in the evening. South
Street will be lined with artisans, crafters, and many unigue vendors. Come spend the day, bring your lawn chair, blanket, and sunscreen. Spread out on the new lawn which was added last fall with proceeds from Waystock 2010. And of course the kids will have a Kid Zone to help keep the little ones busy, while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds of our local bands. The Waystock Committee would like to thank all the bands, and community members who donate their time to make this event a success.
